Scholarship Guidelines & Eligibility
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at an accredited U.S. institution, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. All majors are welcome. Financial need is not required, and there is no application fee. Immediate family members of the scholarship administrator are ineligible.
Application Requirements
Submit a completed application and an accessible link to your original 2–3 minute How Do You ROAR? video by October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST. Only one application per person will be considered.
Video Requirements
Applicants must appear and speak in their video and address Resilience, Overcomer, Achiever, and Radiant. End with: “I was Born to Roar because ______.” Phone recordings are welcome. Production quality is not evaluated. Do not include copyrighted music or unauthorized third-party content.
How Recipients Are Selected
Applications will be evaluated based on the four ROAR elements, thoughtfulness, and the applicant’s demonstrated actions and goals. Four recipients will each receive $500. GPA above the minimum requirement and video production quality will not provide additional judging credit.
Recipient Verification
Potential recipients may be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or other acceptable GPA documentation and proof of current enrollment before an award is issued. If eligibility cannot be verified, Born to Roar may select another eligible applicant.
Scholarship Payment
Four recipients will each receive a $500 scholarship. Selected recipients will receive payment instructions privately after eligibility verification and may be asked to acknowledge receipt.
Privacy & Applicant Stories
Application information and videos will be used to administer and evaluate the scholarship. Applying does not automatically grant Born to Roar permission to publicly share your video, image, or story. Any public sharing will require separate permission.
